Occupational Therapy

Harjot is a registered OT who holds a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto. Her journey into OT was fueled by a passion for health policy, where she discovered the powerful ability OT has in supporting children and families in meaningful ways.

Harjot has developed a particular interest in pediatric OT and the KJOT approach, utilizing interventions such as sensory integration, vestibular-ocular therapy, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, vibration therapy, and more.

As an OT with the KJOT team in the Greater Toronto Area, Harjot is fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi, enabling her to connect with and serve a diverse range of children and families. Ruchi, a dedicated pediatric physiotherapist, is passionate about achieving positive outcomes in every therapy session. With a focus on making therapy fun and engaging, she incorporates evidence-based practices to ensure the best results. Ruchi believes that educating parents about their child’s condition is essential for successful therapy.

After completing her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in physiotherapy with a specialization in neuroscience (special interest in pediatric physiotherapy from Mumbai, India), Ruchi gained valuable experience working with infants in NICUs and children of all ages in special schools and clinical settings. Her research on gross motor function in children with cerebral palsy and the conditioning effects of swimming on respiratory muscles further solidified her expertise in pediatric physiotherapy. Additionally, Ruchi’s collaborative work with occupational therapists on a case study of autism spectrum disorders highlights her ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

Additionally, she contributes to research, specialize in specific areas, and offers telehealth services to meet the needs of their patients. Kimberly completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Sciences from Western University in 2023. She recently completed her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto.

Kimberly has developed a strong interest in pediatric occupational therapy through her 8 years of experience working with children in a variety of settings, including occupational therapy assistant roles, gymnastics coaching, emergency supply teaching, and numerous other volunteer roles. She has collaborated with parents, therapists, and teachers to meet children’s needs and optimize their success.

As an occupational therapist with the KJOT team, Kimberly strives to utilize a holistic and strength-based approach to learn the pieces needed to fully support families and children.
